The first step in understanding is to remove our own subjective lens. Our mediator-led workshops delve into what causes conflict, why it’s so difficult to give honest feedback, and how to have difficult conversations, the right way.

These sessions can last anywhere from 90 minutes to a full-day depending on the needs of your organization and delivery format.

They are team-focused and intended to quickly uncover and address problems.

 

Conflict Management

  • Using Conflict as a Catalyst for Individual and Organizational Growth
    This is a highly interactive session that focuses on helping every member of the team examine their own conflict management tendencies and increase their comfort level with conflict.

  • Working with Different Conflict Styles
    This is an interactive session that allows participants to more deeply explore prevalent conflict management styles, how they differ from each other, how they can enhance or hinder team dynamics. (Please Note: This session can also be developed and facilitated in conjunction with the DiSC Productive Conflict Assessment)

 

Communication & Conflict

  • Listening During Conflict (Part 1 of 2-part series)
    This is an interactive session that focuses on helping every member of the team develop and practice active listening skills, within the context of conflict resolution.

  • Speaking During Conflict (Part 2 of 2-part series)
    This is an interactive session that focuses on helping every member of the team develop and practice verbal communication skills, within the context of constructive conflict.

  • The Anatomy of an Apology
    This session explores the anatomy of an apology and why apologizing is a critical part of the conflict resolution process. There is a place for apologies In the workplace, and it's especially important for managers and leaders to understand when and how to apologize.

  • Mindfulness-Based-Stress Reduction Techniques for Work

 

Conflict & Team Dynamics

  • “Team Standards” Session
    This is a highly interactive session that is more facilitated dialogue than workshop. This session allows for dedicated time and space for teams to set or recalibrate expectations around how work should be done, standards of communication, plans for handling disagreements when they arise.

  • “Gratitudes & Grievances” Session
    This is a highly interactive session that is more facilitated dialogue than workshop. This session allows for dedicated time and space for teams to share gratitudes (things they believe are going well) and grievances (things they believe are holding their team/company back). This can be a cathartic, team-shaping session and is most helpful after a major change has occurred on the team/in the organization.

  • Disagreement Diffusion Planning Session” Session
    This is a highly interactive session that is more facilitated dialogue than workshop. This session allows for dedicated time and space for teams to discuss how they want to disagree. Participants identify existing and/or potential sources of team tension and collectively determine - while in a more objective frame of mind - how to proactively address problems as well as put a plan in place for handling disagreements by completing the 'Disagreement Diffusion Plan' Framework.
